Mad Honey by Jennifer Finney Boylan, Jodi Picoult

emotional tense fast-paced

3.75

This book exceeded my expectations? I am impressed with how much I learned about beekeeping, and I enjoyed the inclusion of honey-centric recipes. This book would be a fantastic exposure for moms open to learning more about what it means to be trans; the topic is covered expertly. I find it a bit sad/funny that, on amazon and goodreads reviews, people are calling this book a try-hard effort to be woke, when
one of our narrators ends the novel in a relationship with a police officer. Were the authors going for PC pandering, this would be a weird move. Personally I thought Olivia's romantic arc felt forced, and truly the only character who had depth was Lily.
