Kissing the Gunner's Daughter by Ruth Rendell

4.0

It takes a lot to get me shaken while reading a mystery, but this one definitely shook me to my core.

Although truly not much happens, there are so many moving pieces and missing people that are or aren’t actually missing, and separate murders and different police POVs that it wasn’t a clear read. Which I think only enhances the unsettlingness of this story.
