Redwall Abbey is renowned throughout Mossflower for its peaceful caretakering mice and the aid they provide to the community. Cluny the Scourge and his rats threatens their peaceful lifestyle.
The Redwall woodland creatures must work together to save their home.

I was obsessed with book about anthropomorphist animals as a kid so I've read a couple of the Redwall books. I hadn't realized how old they were though?? I thought they came about in the 2000s but no, this series originally started in the '80s.

in any case, I didn't remember anything when I started reading it and I didn't start to remember anything as I read. Still had fun reading it though!

It's a very basic hero's journey tale but still a lot of fun.
The character growth of Matthias was really well done. I loved how his beliefs were questioned so he had to change slightly due to the cruel situation he was in.

I liked how realistic Cluny was as a villain. He was a little moustache twirly evil but he tried to be smart with how he approached things.

The side characters were fun, they were constant and didn't really changed.

The worldbuilding was nice. I kinda get their society, it's rodent led, but I'm just so curious on how they build their buildings.

There were a lot more deaths and murders then I was expecting? Graphic deaths.

It was a fun listen and I'll probably read the next one.
