The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Overall I think this is the strongest book thus far because the characters are established, relationships are largely established and the plot progression is non-stop. We learn so much more about why things are the way they are: vulnerabilities are exposed, courage is tested and love is put to the test.

This book allowed for me to fall in love with the characters and the immense growth they go through, both individually and together. Poppy learned a lot more about herself and really begins to embrace it, despite the fact that she's constantly met with surprise after shock after despair.

It felt like it took forever for Poppy, Cas, Kieran and Co. to get to the Capital, only to essentially spend no time there and leave again. Sometimes I found myself realizing that a lot of time has been spent traveling in such a short amount of time - so much so where because SO much has happened, Poppy and Cas had a moment where they realized they didn't even know each other's birthdays. After all that they've been through, including marriage, they didn't know that. It kind of puts all of the ridiculous tropes on their head, and I kind of appreciate that. JLA is self-aware enough to make sure to include these moments for the reader.

Cannot wait to see the HELL Poppy unleashes.
