Before We Were Strangers by Renée Carlino
3.0
Some of the minor characters in this book make super sexist and misogynist comments. They come off as a jerk, and it’s not even a big part of the story, but it’s at the beginning, and it just set the tone as not the best for me. There’s also some grooming, and too much ick for me.
This book spans 15 years as Matt and Grace meet in college and navigate their transition to careers and other major events. There are some sweet moments, but I never connected with them in a deep way. I also struggle with the major secret Grace has. I think she should’ve tried harder. This one just wasn’t for me.
