now don’t get me wrong, this was a good book. I just was not in the mood for it. I went into this thinking it would be a cute fantasy romance… which is my fault for not reading the description and reviews. I was going to dnf it in the beginning, but decided to see if the tone changed… by the time I knew it wouldn’t, I was too far in and I wanted to know how it ended.
The bits of romance we got, I did enjoy! The writing was great. The audiobook was pretty good, though I didn’t like the voice chosen for Max, it didn’t fit him imo. And the story was really good. I am, however, unfortunately not a fan of the writer because some comments she made… so I feel like that is another reason couldn’t fully enjoy this.
