I liked this and it was so interesting to learn more about Hawai’i and its history, both cultural and in terms of colonisation and continued exploitation of locals and Hawai’ian land - coming from a European background, I had no idea about any of it. I listened to the audiobook as well which was narrated by the author and that was really fantastic and definitely enriched the experience.
The only thing I’d say is there were parts where she really repeated herself, like at the beginning of every chapter or so we got a recap of what had already been discussed as if she was expecting us to read things in a random order, or read it very slowly and forget, and it got a bit annoying. Other than that though, I would definitely recommend it!
