2.5 stars. Once upon a time my dream was to work in politics. As such, I love reading political memoirs. I had high hopes for this, particularly given that it was written by a woman close to my own age, but it was neither particularly well-written nor as serious as something like Stephanopoulos' All Too Human.

In the end, it was too much fluff for someone who had a serious job and purportedly wrote the book to help other women in government be taken more seriously. When you mention your $13k wedding dress and crassly describe, in detail, your gastrointestinal issues at the Vatican, it is hard to take you seriously. Deductions as well for using short hand pet names, making the whole thing feel even more like chick lit vs something semi serious.

In the end I never could quite figure out what, exactly, the book's purpose was, beyond telling a handful of decent stories.
