It is a special book: keenly observed, beautifully written, smart. Although I do struggle to find satisfaction in it by the end, because I cannot quite tell what it was about. I feel like the main character has been at arms reach and behind a glass door all of this time. And yes, she's only an outline in my mind, which I very much suspect is the point, but... I don't think there was enough there for me to feel like I experienced a novel. I guess I want to see if I ever felt blown away by plotless novels, and I suspect that probably not. Despite sll of that, I am interested in #2 and I wanto to read more. I cannot quite tell if it's not because I hope for some sort of point at the end though.
