Disorderly Conduct
by Tessa Bailey
Disorderly Conduct is book 1 in the Academy series. This is my first Tessa Bailey book and I can already tell you it will not be my last. I really enjoyed the author's writing style and can't wait to read the next book. Bailey weaved a steaming hot read with lots of conflict that kept my attention.
This story revolves around Charlie Burns, a police academy cadet and Ever Carmichael a chef at her catering company. They are at a bar one night and lock eyes and wind up starting a no strings attached fling. Ever has a set of rules to go by, basically being don't stay with a guy longer than a month, don't fall for him, etc. She winds up cutting off the fling with Charlie after a month together and Charlie doesn't exactly want that and I could tell Ever didn't either. The duo decide to stay friends and oh boy some of the scenes made me want to shake either one of them. Neither makes the best decisions but since I'm rooting for them working it out and getting together again it really wound up frustrating me during some of their more major conflicts.
Disorderly Conduct is a sexy read you won't want to miss. I really wound up enjoying this book and can't wait to read more of TBailey's work in the near future. I will lay this out there right now, this story isn't going to be for everyone. Charlie wants Ever back as a fling and decides to ruin any dates she winds up going on. He has the right intentions kind of in his head but it does give a somewhat stalker/obsessed vibe at times. Some of the scenes are absolutely hilarious but others do cross a bit of a line and could possibly annoy you. If you're a fan of steamy contemporary romance novels with lots of conflict, you're going to love this book.
