This book should have been amazing. It had all of the best elements of a good YA horror. It was spooky and had some great scary bits and a great underlying plot. The problem is this book suffers from the same thing that many YA books suffer from: the romance ruined it! This is another book that had pointless, and unrealistic romance that was clearly added just to get the attention of teenage girls. This book did not need the romance so matter how they try and frame it the romance was useless and greatly reduced the quality of the book. This could have been an amazing book with great action and horror elements and some great friendships as well but it got turned into an unrealistic romance and a poor excuse for a horror.
Great potential but ruined for my by an unneeded romance!
