The Last Secret of the Temple by Paul Sussman
4.0
Impeccable
That wasn't a rollercoaster that was the entire amusement park.
My Gawd the book has everything. History, wars, emotions, murders, mysteries and LOTS of secrets.
The love, loss and despair and hope that was presented in this book was really something else.
My braincells enjoyed with every single page of this book.
I've read all of Dan Brown's book and I've never thought that'd find something similar to it, but here we go.
The amount of satisfaction I got from this book is insane. E
verything was written in a very clever way and the characters has depth and you can feel deeply to each one of them and you're so attached to all of them and to their devastating stories.
And I really loved the religious and historical accuracy that the book held.
I'd have loved if the writer just provided some translation for the Arabic and the Jewish lines that was written in thw book, but it's all good.
And we can't forget the scenes of humor that was added to the book in a very smart way.
And the human touch was added in just the right amount.
The writer did a phenomenal job in capturing the habits, clothes, sense of humor, morals and their culture . This was spot on.
And I honestly do believe that violence against civilians isn't the right path for both sides. Only peace and the willingness to open up to new ideas and to the other side that'll make things easier.
It was so ironic seeing three different people from three different nations and different backgrounds and all they wanna do is just spreading negativity, hate, blood and violence . They might seem different from the outside, but they all used the same wicked ways to do so, they all used religion to manipulate, convince and brainwash people so they'd kill under the name of god. They all though that they were doing something for their people and that they're protecting them, but at the end they did nothing but causing more damage and more people to die for nothing but their arrogance and egocentric selves.
It's worth mentioning as well the way the book and the chapters were written, everytime I read a chapter I get way too deep and focus with the character and then the next we have other parts with different charactera which makes me get excited to find out the things they discovered. This was the most fun Russian roulette kind of stories.
This is so perfect and I can't think if anything extra to add.
This entire book is just chef's kiss.
