I enjoyed this exploration of what humans mean to their gods and how religion and philosophy can be co opted for political gain or too abstract to have practical applications.
This was my first Pratchett and based on what I've heard about him and his works over the years I had pretty high expectations. My biggest disappointment was that the story has basically no women, except as mentioned in passing as possible distractions for men. Given the focus of the story and the cultures involved, I guess I can understand no central women, but it still felt weird to read.
