Very enjoyable. I loved the aspects of sisterhood, feminism, and social justice.  I love when books write friendship between women well, and this book definitely did that. I wish Cussy Mary and  Jackson were in a few more scenes because I just love them.  I also, of course, love the animal relationships in this book. Junia is my favorite character. And I love Penny the cat and Tommy the rooster too. As someone who loves with an animal that has enough personality for 3, I like reading stories where the characters have a deep bond with their animal companion. I really like the author’s style and would highly recommend the audiobook performance. It’s great.
