Crier's War by Nina Varela

5.0

This is now one of my favorite books. The plot twists, the romance, the suspense. It’s all wonderfully brilliant

To start; Ayla’s character development throughout the story was perfect. How she went from a revenge driven human to a conflicted spy.

Crier was an amazingly written character as well, she started off mainly seeking the approval of her father and working towards to goals of her fiancé’s. In the end she realized you can’t follow blind “love” (if thats what she even felt for her father). And started looking to create a sort of equality between humans and automatons.

The world building is intricate and confusing at first but as the story goes on you can appreciate how complicated it is, and how it is creates a perfectly dystopian / Sci Fi mix.

Excited to read the sequels and see what happens next!!!

My favorite chapters between Ayla and Crier are:
11-Ballroom/Story
15-Ayla Visits Criers Room
20-Kiss Scene Finally
