The one thing that I can say is consistent with Harris' writing, she knows how to write a page turner. There wasn't a moment that I wanted to put the book down; I wanted to know how it would all come out in the end. But aside from that and who Sookie ended up with, I found the book to be a disappointment. Claude as the main villain was just a stretch. The author even had her characters say that the reasoning didn't make sense, because it is! And I didn't like the appearance of almost every single character Sookie has every interacted with returning to help her now! But I was happy she ended up with Sam. It's the only love interest she could ever actually have a future with. Friendship really is an important foundation.
