my favourite thing about this book is how distinctive the characters were! sam and penny sometimes acted in ways that annoyed me,,, but even on that level, the annoyance was enjoyable because they felt like realish people, instead of a vague impression of a few traits that only serve to move the plot forward

altho it was only a small subplot i LOVED the bits about pennys book, the paragraphs about the Anima scattered through  were incredibly interesting and a real treat to read 😊

Sam and Pennys romance was very sweet, their texts to each other were funny and avoided feeling corny or stilted.

I felt the ending was a bit anticlimactic tho, even tho it was very sweet it felt like it could have used another chapter just to really tie everything in a neat bow, even so I still very much enjoyed it for what it was.

I never got Mallory tho… she had almost no redeeming qualities and i didn’t understand why penny ended up befriending her.,,.. all she did was be sorta racist and have an evil rich family 😐😐😐😐 like idc she flopped

I would have liked more closure about sams documentary tho, like does he ever show it to anyone?? what happens with the skater boy n family?? he jus kinda found out he couldn’t put it thru uni and then never brought it up again ☹️
