This was cute. Hazelwood immediately chucks the reader into the story, and doesn't waste any time!! I wasn't sure how I would feel about the professor / PhD student angle. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the professor student arc played out. It was tastefully done, and the ethical considerations were discussed within the story which I appreciated as it didn't make it feel taboo!!!

I loved the representation of a female in STEM, specially as a female in STEM. I also enjoyed that women in STEM were represented by more than just the FMC! There were women in multiple leadership positions, and she had female peers. In addition, there was also LGBTQ representation!

The spice didn't pop up until 3/4 the way through, and it didn't detract from the overall storyline.
