The Cuckoo Clock of Doom by R.L. Stine
4.0

Review readers beware your in for a... spoiler-ish review. (I think)

(did anyone get that)

Definitely not as I remember reading years ago, but definitely better then what I had thought in mind. Im glad I decided to re-read this cause thats not how I remember it. I thought it was about being stuck in the Cuckoo clock

But no its about time manipulation.

The main character Michael life is miserable because of his sister always getting him in trouble, and a bunch of horrible things. His father brings home a Cuckoo clock. Michaels sister Tara is enamored with it. Wanting to get back at his sister he decides to get her in trouble for once. So he moves the hands on the clock. The next day its not the next day. Suddenly it's a couple days earlier. Then it happens again. Over and over and Hes getting younger and younger.

I like the whole time is going backwards and if he doesn't fix it he may vanish.

It doesn't go into how and why the clock makes time go backward (i think, but im 90% sure this book didn't) but with R.L Stine goosebumps books I dont really expect that.

If it was like a YA book type or like a book aimed to older people yeah I definitely want to know the mechanics. But this is goosebumps. I expect a problem happening to the character, the character deals with problem, they seemingly fixes problem, then a "what?!?!?!?!" At the end. A straight forward type book.

One thing that annoys me the most is his little sister. Tara was spoiled child who never got in trouble for things she did. Instead the Michael got in trouble. FOR EVERYTHING! I had to put down my book cause i was just so annoyed at that girl. SHE GOT HIM BEATEN UP AND JUST SMILED WITH A "I thought it was your cap".
OH. MY. GOSH. SHE WAS HORRIBLE!

I definitely wouldn't like a sibling like her. She was bratty.

But on the flip side, im glad she wasn't just another Ooo a cute young innocent child. Kids can definitely be little pains when they want to be. Especially if they are spoiled and get away with things like she was.

These books are a little over 100 pages and really good for a quick read.
