This sent me right back to my childhood, reading the first series. Cardcaptor Sakura and CLAMP themselves had a huge impact on my art that I'm just now recognizing.
The art is as lovely as always, the outfits as extraordinary as always, the characters and jokes as sweet and adorable as always. It just feels like slipping back years into a cozy series that is picking up right where it ended (literally, it starts just where the old series ended).
It feels a like it's rehashing the old plots, but I'll wait a bit before judging it, because I'm still so excited.
I'm also delighted about the casual way Touya and Yukito are shown to be gay and in love. It feels like I've been waiting my whole life to see them be casual and in love and it's absolutely wonderful.
