Time Is a Mother by Ocean Vuong

4.0

“I can say it’s gorgeous now, my arm, because it belonged to no one else.”

its like i read every ocean vhuong book at the perfect time of my life. this book talks about the pain of immigrating to a country where no one sees you as part of it, and the journey it takes to undo your own prejudices because of it. it's the journey of seeing yourself not as damaged but as created by everything

“On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” is just another level and is still my fave ocean vuong but i love his poetry too. I love the way he thinks and puts it into words.
