Mary Poppins
by P.L. Travers
I'm doubtlessly too old for this book. It is a sweet little pleasant read, though, and interesting to compare it to the Disney movie. I read the revised, less racist version, and I'm pretty sure there's some light, playful class commentary in it (though less than in the film, which, I believe, combines all the novels). I did very much like how mean and cross and grumpy Mary Poppins is. She's beloved and completely independent.
