A Shilling for Candles by Josephine Tey

1.0

Not gonna lie: this was really hard for me to finish/ keep up with. It took me so long that when the mystery was solved I didn't even recognize some of the people, and (supposedly) shocking revelations just caused me to really force my memory to try and discover what exactly did I miss, since no shock occurred. I much preferred Tey's first novel. However flawed, at least it captured my attention enough to want to finish it. This was just... so dull. The opposite of what murder mysteries should be. Really disappointed.
