Okay, I've stopped counting since last month, so I'm not sure how many novels I finished in less than a day. However, I will state with pride once more that this was another.
This book was the perfect little mood booster, a classic good girl x (not so) bad boy vibes with tutor-student tension and teenage-level sweetness that had me eating it up. The slow burn, the playful banter, and the friendship-to-love glow-up was kind of adorable and frustrating a bit. IYKWIM. Sure, the third-act conflict made me want to gently toss the book across the room. It felt a bit forced and out of character, but I’ll forgive everything for that swoony grand gesture ending. It came full circle in a way that hit just right.
I also wanted to point out the dynamics between Daisy and her best friends. The girl gang is ICONIC. Daisy, Violet, Dahlia, and Jane had me giggling, grinning, and rooting for their messy, charming moments every single time. Their banter added the sparkle I didn’t know I needed. Likewise, I would like to acknowledge Lee Samuels and Emma Wilder for narrating this book. Their voices brought the characters to life so vividly, and the way they embodied the emotion and tension was spot on. Even though it’s not a duet narration, their performances blended beautifully and added so much depth to the story. Truly such a phenomenal pairing.
Violet and Gavin’s chaotic energy got teased just enough to wreck my curiosity in the best way 😮💨🔥 I already know their banter is going to be feral, unhinged, and emotionally messy, and I’m here for every second. No lies, I’ll be diving straight into Hating the Player right after this because I need answers ASAP! 💥🏃🏻♀️
