Hallowe'en Party
by Agatha Christie
Is it me? Why can't I love her style like everyone else does??
This could have easily been a 4-star read, but it often loses track of its own atmosphere (and that's saying something for a story set in the countryside, during Halloween, with the crime being committed somewhere called Apple Trees). In addition, the narration doesn't feel enticing; I once again felt detached while reading an Agatha Christie novel.
It is a good case, though; and Poirot was decidedly less annoying in this one — maybe because it was my first time reading one of his stories that is not being narrated by a character.
3.5. My kingdom for an Agatha Christie book that I actually, fully, enjoy.
