The Splendor of Fear by Ambrose Ibsen

4.0

I adore Penny. She went from whiny and slightly annoyed to freaked-out, from freaked-out to downright scared, from scared to SO ANGRY!, and from angry to bad-ass heroine. And I loved to see this evolution in her. How the moderately self-involved woman who only went to spend some time in the woods with her boyfriend because she thought he was about to propose becomes the compassionate woman who can see that, even as Ellie Pomeroy was guilty of all the things she was charged, is willing to do all she can to free the woods from the fear that permeates it.

I didn't care too much about Jared, but then again, this is Penny's story, so that's okay :P

Melissa Moran was wonderful narrating this tale :)
