No, No, No, Just Flat Out No!
I have read hundreds upon hundreds of dubious, grey area non-con books over the years and have absolutely no triggers when it comes to the many, many flavours of play erotic books take. However, the cornerstone of them all, and ALL play in general in consent. Always, clear consent. However, what is contained in this book is so far beyond consent I am at a loss for words at how Amazon allows it!?! I've seen books far less dubious than this get banned yet this one featuring premeditated, unapologetic actions of reproductive manipulation that is out and out sexual assault is okay?
Anyone who reads my dark romance reviews knows I am beyond open minded, BUT, switching out a woman's birth control to a placebo and then purposely getting her pregnant without her knowledge and consent is rape plain and simple. Not a breeding kink, not a form of bdsm D/s or rape play, or any kind of possessive alpha game you could possibly think of. It's rape. I'll say it again. It. Is. Rape.
This book is an irresponsible and dangerous take on the OTT possessive alpha, you are mine trope. It doesn't just cross a line, it drives a mack truck through it! This book depicts a flipping human rights violation, not any type of love!
Honestly, how do ANY of K. Webster's or Jenika Snow's books get banned while this one acceptable?!? Absolutely ridiculous.
