Sadie by Courtney Summers
5.0
cw: sexual abuse, pedophilia, murder, drug abuse.
i don't think i'll ever be able to process this book. this is a story we all know, that is told in different ways every single day. a story that is painful, and uncomfortable, and unfair, but that we need to talk about.
i'm glad courtney treated this subject in a such a responsible way. it was a heavy reading process of course, but also a necessary one.
i admire sadie, her strength and bravery. but at the same time i feel bad for all the shit she had to go through to get them.
"and sadie, if you’re out there, please let me know. because i can’t take another dead girl."
