My first read of thi book I was not the bigget fan of Gloam for some reason. I jsut finished my second read though and I am so glad i did because what was i thinking Gloam is so kind! His backstory kinda brings me to tears, but he is still full of kindness and compassion which is really incredible.
I have and always will love Rig. He is a precious, horny, super messy guy who just wants to free some beasties. He has the biggest heart. Everything he went through to get Gloam free, my gosh! This book was kinda intense, and there are some super dark elements, but I really love the friendships in the Monstrous series. Ghost and Rig and their beasties. I am not a lover of Anchor, but I understand her more and more as I reread the books.
The Monstrous series is absolutely one of my all time favorites and I love the themes of friendship and found family and hurt comfort that each book has. The world is kinda dark and life is tough but these characters are still finding love and joy and a little bit of family. ♥
