This was pleasant, a collection of short vignettes about one of the author's favorite books and a recipe it inspired. She is a professional butcher/baker so some of these recipes are way too complicated for me to try...(in the time it takes to read through the four pages of chocolate eclair instructions I could run out and buy some, be back and eating them) Also the author is only 28, so her life experiences with these books tend to involve school; she says she remembers all the rude restaurant customers she's had "over the years" "as if it were yesterday." It WAS yesterday, dear. But that's nitpicking, she's clearly a smart cookie, if you will, and it's a nice little book.
