This series is honestly everything. I love every single thing about it, and I cannot wait for the next book. Like, inject it straight into my veins right now.
As much as I loved and adored Kissmas (and it filled me with absolute glee to see so much of Coal and Hex in this one), I think I might’ve loved this book even more. Kris and Loch were just...everything. While the first book had so much heart and humor, this one brought heart and humor and soul and spice. It was giving depth and chaos. It felt a little heavier at times, sure, but it still delivered the signature romcom banter and utterly unhinged shenanigans we’ve come to expect (and worship) from this series.
Also? The way the underlying plot from book one carried over and mutated like a delightful little gremlin in this second one? Genius. I live for interconnected standalones with a sneaky subplot for the overachievers among us who read things in order. It’s like a little reward for being Type A and emotionally invested.
I listened to this one on audio (then immediately bought a trophy copy to sit proudly on my shelf next to it's book 1 counterpart), and let me tell you...Dylan Reilly Fitzpatrick absolutely bodied this narration. One narrator, but somehow it felt like a whole ensemble cast. The accents? Impeccable. The character shifts? Flawless. The vibe? VIBING.
I'm just so happy Kris got his HEA. He deserved it. We all did. And I cannot wait to dive into Iris’ book. She’s 100% going to be a disaster in the best way, and I am ready to be dragged through emotional chaos with snacks in hand.
