This book is terrible, I love it. Cormac McCarthy manages to write a western novel in a way that makes the era seem alien from the descriptive language to the characters.
Graphic: Animal death, Child abuse, Child death, Cursing, Death, Drug use, Genocide, Gore, Gun violence, Pedophilia, Physical abuse, Racial slurs, Racism, Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Slavery, Violence, Blood, Death of parent, Murder, Fire/Fire injury, Gaslighting, Alcohol, Colonisation, Injury/Injury detail
The content warnings don’t do enough to represent the brutality present in this novel.
