This book was extremely enjoyable. I thought it was sophisticated but you could almost tell based off of how E. Lockhart wrote Cadence that something haunting was happening behind the scenes. The Sinclairs reminded me a lot of an old money family with many deep dark secrets that they kept under wraps. as much as i enjoyed this book, i felt uneasy about Gat being the only POC on the island that wasn’t a service worker. i constantly had a “Get Out” situation playing in the back of my head whenever his name was mentioned
