Prisoners of Geography, Volume 1: Ten Maps That Explain Everything about the World by Tim Marshall

5.0

This is one the best books I have read. If you read one political book this year, it should be this.

Not only are the contents of this book applicable now, they will be years from now. Tim takes us at a journey through ten regions of the world, looking at their geographies of the larger areas, and how that helped shape history and culture.

Each chapter is about 25 pages on average, with a consistent style - history of the region, major stakeholders and how the politics plays now, and what the future holds. Tim is a very articulate and concise writer, and found the book very enjoyable.
