spoilers: 
a sinister tale about a cult disguised as a school. 

pacing wise, the first 100 pages seemed a little slow as it set the prose, the characters, their backgrounds, etc. I later realized the significance of this long setup as the rest of the book became an easy page-turner.

my only complaint was that the tone for some parts, especially the beginning, felt very teenish. a lot of emotions and intentions felt told instead of showed
