I loved the contestants, and I loved how they all had their own silent desperation. It connected them in a very elegant way.

I will say that it can be a bit daunting with so many to keep track of, but most only shine for a chapter and it really only focuses on only 4-5 of them.

This is a SLOW horror, mostly physiological as you and the contestants see these bad signs and fumble trying to figure out what is real and how they should react. They also try and justify their situation because they don’t want to admit they could be  in a danger, which was an interesting narrative I totally understood and thought was sorta fresh.

The bad guys have an interesting backstory, along with the situation, and it went in a way I was not expecting but was still pleasant.

Less people killing for sport and more occult sacrifice

WARNING! This book does have an open-ish ending. I was okay with it, but you might find it a bit abrupt.
