Absolutely tore through this audiobook. Very well produced with actors for different characters and music, almost like a radio play. Overall interesting story and rich characters, even if I was frustrated by choices they made (inevitable in this type of book). The class differences added an interesting layer.

I wanted to scream at Alix to stop being so trusting, stop ignoring her instincts (which, to be fair, she addresses in the end, wanting to see what would happen if she was more reckless). I don’t know if there is a sequel but it felt like the end was opening a door for that. The end felt a bit rushed through with the jumps in time, but they also made sense. I wish Alix’s husband had been found while still alive, it would have been interesting to see how the relationship would change. But it’s crime fiction, I can’t be too upset when someone dies…
