This novel came to me at the perfect time. I started reading it on my flight back from Scotland. I had enjoyed Glasgow immensely and wanted to find out more about the city‘s fascinating history. The story was absolutely perfect, a fascinating insight into the downfall of the working class, a far less liberal not so distant past and the tender hearts of two boys. The memories of my trip will be forever interwoven with reading this book, making it even more special.
