This was a super fun NA romantasy. Shaye is a princess and heir to the Midorian throne. When she unwittingly thwarts an assassination attempt the night before her wedding, she is kidnapped by the three Hartland brothers - magic users from Tronovia, the sworn enemy of her people. The ensuing adventure turns out to be more than any of them bargained for, and nothing is as it seems... especially Shaye.

The worldbuilding in this book was so cool. I feel like we hardly ever see trolls in fantasy unless they're evil monsters, but the troll country of Bava that the characters encounter on their journey is so colorful (literally and figuratively)!

I LOVED the three brothers and their interactions with Shaye, not to mention Eris and the friendship between the two girls. I really enjoyed watching Shaye's journey from a spoiled princess to a woman in control of her own power. Shaye is very sheltered and naive for most of this book, but it's understandable considering her upbringing. Even when she doesn't know how to use her power, she still does her best to fight back.

And of course, I loved Atlas and his witty banter (although my favorite brother is Nyx, personally. He's such a good friend to Shaye!)

Overall this was a super quick and fun read. I can't wait for April to see what happens in book 2!
