Hyperion by Dan Simmons
5.0

Wonderful world building through the eyes of diverse characters. The hegemony seems to be a continuum of our ever-so-boring conformity, but of course, there's a glimmer of hope in the Ouster worlds.

The Technocore concept is amazing to think about in the landscape of these recent AI breakthroughs.

All in all, the book has so much humanity and so many ideas to think about.

really loved the story or Rachel and her live going backwards, while each day she forgot the day before, the heartbreak of these beautiful, kind people, the steps they make in order to support her every day, pretending that nothing out of the ordinary is happening and Rachel is living her normal teenage years

was so caught up by the story of Siri and how the guy (not sure I remember his name, definitely wasn't John) would only visit her so many years apart, while she was getting old on the planet and the soldier was doing his several week trip, such a weird thought of being able to teleport into the future like this, but never being able to go back

really enjoyed every character's story after a while, the poet's story being the hardest to get into, but the poet is the one writing the Hyperion Cantos, oh boy, looking forward to read or listen to the other two
