The Forgotten Girls: A Memoir of Friendship and Lost Promise in Rural America by Monica Potts

2.0

This book really did not read as a "memoir" for me. It read more like a prolonged magazine article with pretty blatant opinions throughout.

I actually feel bad for her "friend". This book felt like a timeline and narrative of every poor decision and mistake she made her entire life so far.

THEN after an entire books worth of ragging on this town...the author MOVES BACK to said town without really any insight as to why. That really confused me.

There were some interesting studies and statistics shared in this book...

There was big potential here, but this one did not do it for me.
