There are parts of this book that are so haunting. The end confused me a little about whether Gwendolyn and Estelle were the same person รก la dissociative identity disorder, or if Gwen was severely hallucinating towards the end, but I don't think that took away from the main point of the story.

Absolute power corrupted absolutely, so they say. And Tsao would seem to agree with this statement. The use of the bagatelles and their behavior altering fungus is one of the best metaphors I have ever seen.

This book is dark and twisted in the most delicious way, and it reads like a ghost story.
