easiest 5 stars rating i've given since the poppy war for sure!!
this was such an amazing book and i literally cannot wait for the next one. first of all rukh.... my beloved he actually made me tear up (real) and his relationship with priya was so tender and genuine oh my god. bhumika and ashok were very complex, morally grey characters and i looooved rao and prem's dynamic (gay as fuck but anyway-). best for last,,, priya and malini who really went beyond my expectations, i love seeing lesbian characters so sure and comfortable within themselves, so flawed yet likeable while always remaining human enough for us to relate to them as readers.
the world and the fantasy elements were extremely easy to grasp but not uninteresting in the least, and to be honest it might be one of my favorite fantasy worlds i've read so far.
it would be an understatement to say that i'm invested in how this story is going to unfold so yeah, very excited!
