I have to confess that I hated this book when I started it. The author made such a strong introduction of his mother's many and significant accomplishments that I had trouble relating to her or the family. As the book proceeded the accomplishments finally took a backseat to the woman and her relationships to her family members and friends. Through reading and discussion Will and his mother learn more about each other and themselves, preparing themselves for the end we must all face. Excellent.
