May be an issue with the translation, but repetitive sentence structures abound. There are whole pages where every clause begins with "He [verb]." A little too much like stage direction.

Characters weren't fleshed out enough. The story tries to touch on a lot of themes and is at times heavy-handed. For me, it didn't deliver.
