i hate the memory loss trope with a passion, and it dragged in this book. it was the same format of memories - sex with 2% of information.

the entire point of the plot in this book was building up to a war. the war that barely happened and lasted one or two chapters, was so bland and boring with action that was not written very well and
it ended with them talking. if they had just had that conversation earlier,
maybe we could have got a decent plot in this book.

the magic system was even more ridiculous. it involved more of the author throwing random convenient things in with no rules and no planning behind the magic and powers.

once again it was a fun, easy and slightly silly read. i like the characters enough that im invested in their stories which is the only reason why a) this book has two stars and b) im going to keep reading the series even though yet again im hoping that the actual writing is going to get better and the plot and fantasy aspects are going to become more developed - all of which are very poor - which is what would have made this a solid four star series.
