Dani Shapiro is an amazing writer! Signal Fires is very beautiful and heart shattering. We follow two families, the Wilfs and the Shenkmans, from 1985 through 2020. Awful events happen to each of the families and as an avid reader would expect, everything is connected. At 222 pages, this book packs a punch, but certain characters’ stories felt a bit rushed. My only complaint is that I wanted more!
