what drew me in was the cover but realized that it holds no connection to the story. while i did enjoy the beginning, i skim read the second half.
i started losing interest around 175 pages. the characters were underdeveloped and felt "meh" to me at best. when the killer was revealed i honestly did not even remember him being previously mentioned so i guess that shows i wasn't really into this book.
there was potential for it to be a great, intense read if it didn't feel like the author was torn between keeping the story YA-appropriate and going deeper.
