The Music Shop by Rachel Joyce

4.0

Ahhh a book set in the 80's featuring vinyl records and all types of great music as its central theme, yes please. Frank, the record store owner, wanted to provide his customers with the perfect song or artist based on what they were feeling, what they were in the mood for. He wasn't making any money off of his vinyl sales. CD's were hitting the markets and every chain store had them, vinyl records soon to be a thing of the past. But the man who would only listen to Chopin found his love of Aretha, a banker found the perfect song to lull his baby to sleep. Frank was a kind soul and wanted to share his love of music with the world which is reminiscent of the lyrics by Ani DiFranco... that the kindness he's lavished on strangers is more than we can explain.
