I came for cool powers and a dark world—stayed for the found-family feels and sharp character work. Kaz is the ultimate morally gray mastermind, and Inej? Quietly unstoppable. Every character shines, and the six POVs never feel crowded.
Third-person usually isn’t my thing, but Bardugo’s writing is so immersive it didn’t matter—I was in. The start’s a bit slow if you’re new to the Grishaverse, but once it clicks? Full throttle. And that final twist? Chef’s kiss.
Gritty, clever, emotional—this one’s a must for fantasy lovers.
